A Field Planting Training session was conducted at Wealth Houses Plantation on 17 September 2026, led by Mr Tang Kie Teck, Senior Manager of Nursery & Oil Palm Replanting Operations. The training focused on planting new oil palm seedlings on peat soil in accordance with the Peat Replanting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and JTH agricultural guidelines.
Combining classroom instruction with practical field demonstrations, the session covered seedling readiness, transportation, fertiliser application, proper planting techniques and post-planting care. Emphasis was placed on careful seedling handling, correct planting and backfilling methods, same-day planting and accurate daily record-keeping.
The training also highlighted the importance of seedling traceability and the two-monthly supply-palm census cycle to support effective plantation management and ensure compliance with established agricultural practices.
