Jaya Tiasa Holdings Berhad (JTH) was recently recognised by the Sarawak Government for its contribution towards the acquisition of a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine for Sibu Hospital.
On behalf of JTH, Mr Simon Wong, Senior Manager of Human Resources & Administration, received a recognition plaque from YB Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, in appreciation of the company’s support towards enhancing healthcare services in the region.
With the installation of the Philips Diamond Select 1.5T Achieva dStream, Sibu Hospital has become the second hospital in Sarawak equipped with a specialised cardiac MRI machine. The new facility will benefit patients throughout the Central Region, including those from Mukah, Sarikei and Kapit Divisions.
Prior to this upgrade, patients requiring specialised cardiac MRI examinations were often referred to the Sarawak Heart Centre in Kuching, as the hospital’s previous MRI system did not have the capability to support such procedures.
This contribution reflects JTH’s commitment to supporting community well-being by helping bring critical healthcare services closer to the people who need them most.
